System Status - 2026 Season

9/8/26 - COID had issued their tentative fall 2026 rampdown schedule.  

• September 15^th – 75% at the river diversion which means delivery percentages at patrons’ headgates will be reduced to approximately 50%.
• October 1^st – 50% at the river diversion and delivery percentages at patrons’ headgates will be reduced to stock water run levels.
• The tentative season shut off dates will be: October 14^th for the Central Oregon Canal (East Side of Bend, Alfalfa, & Powell Butte Areas); October 15^th for the Pilot Butte Canal (North End of Bend, Redmond, & Terrebonne Areas).

8/25/26 - COID has reduced flow rates an additional 10%. Avion’s irrigation systems were not designed to run at COIDs reduced flow rates. Continuing to operate as normal can cause damage to the systems. If equipment is in danger of damage systems will be shut off.
 
7/9/26 - Avion is working to deliver as much water as possible with the reduction in COID's canal flow rates. Our 2026 Irrigation Season Notice will provide important information on what you can do to keep the irrigation systems on longer.

7/6/26 - COID has announced that water entering the canals is being reduced due to worsening drought conditions. We are working with COID to deliver as much water as possible. The most up-to-date information will be at COID.org/drought/ or in COID Alerts. Sign up for COID Alerts by texting COID to 541-338-7322. Avion receives notifications at the same time as the public.

6/19/26  - COID has released a statement on severe drought conditions and water curtailments expected in the coming weeks. COID's website will be the most up-to-date, as COID releases information to Avion at the same time it does to the public. 

5/11/26  - COID has released a statement and additional information on the current water situation due to the 2026 declared drought. COID's website will be the most up-to-date, as COID releases information to Avion at the same time it does to the public.
